CIBC repairs battered image: Departure marks end of high-wire act in US

Article Abstract:

The sudden departure of David Kassie from Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) marks the end of high-wire zone of US investment banking. Efforts are made to transform the bank into a deal oriented financial player with the appointment of a task force headed by its chief counsel Michael Capatides to review virtually all of the banks procedures to ensure that the bank is engaged in ethical business transactions.
