Canaccord adds cross-town rival to acquisitions

Article Abstract:

Brink Hudson & Lefever Ltd., a financial services company, will be acquired by Canaccord Capital Corp., a rival firm headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia, for an undisclosed amount. The purchase deal, if consummated, will convert the Brink Hudson operations into a Canaccord Capital outlet. The move will also enable Canaccord to enhance its existing 770-person workforce by about 50 brokers. The transaction reflects the strong confidence for Brink Hudson by Canaccord Capital, according to Michael Greenwood, Canaccord's president.
