Canadian animators leading 3-D revolution; better technology is lowering the high cost of production

Article Abstract:

Nelvana Ltd.'s Patrick Loubert said developments in 3-D technology have thinned the line between live action and animation. Loubert, who is Nelvana co-founder and co-chief executive officer, observed the swift growth in the technology in a short period of time. The Toronto, Canada-based Nelvana is in fact launching the first television show with the 3-D format this fall. Rolie Polie Olie, the children's show, which will be shown on the Disney channel, will enthrall audiences with its exciting visual presentation. Observers said Canadian animators are making headways in the establishment of computer-generated TV shows.
