Certicom slashing 30% of its work force

Certicom Corp.. an encryption software maker, is scaling back investments in new encryption technology and cutting 30 % of its work force in North America. During the next few months, approximately 60 people will be laid off which will leave a staff of about 150 people.

Geac boss quits as firm plans makeover

Article Abstract:

Markham, Ont.-based Geac Computer Corporation Ltd. has announced the resignation of president and chief executive officer Douglas Bergeron. Geac, which is undergoing restructuring, has appointed John Caldwell and William Nelson to lead the company on an interim basis.

Troubled Geac cutting 500 jobs

Article Abstract:

Toronto, Ont.-based Geac Computer Corporation Ltd. has eliminated 500 employees during a major restructuring effort. Geac, which also wil take a $28 million accounting charge, may sell some or all of the software firm.
