Changes brewing for Bowen Island

Article Abstract:

Vancouver, Brit Colum-based Bowen Island Brewing Co., a microbrewery company, merges in 1998 with Coquihalla Brewing in an effort to enjoy a greater clout in the market. The merger deal between Bowen Island Brewing and Coquihalla Brewing will enable the two firms to be comer competitive in the market as a result of the synergies created between their complementary product lines. The merger deal will also provide the two firms will improved financial capability to generate new business opportunities for their operations.

Report urges breakup of B.C. Hydro

A new report recommends that B.C. Hydro by deregulated, which would allow the price of electricity to rise according to private sector market levels. The report, which was released by a British Columbia provincial government task force, also recommends a greater reliance on coal as a source of energy for the province.
