Charges laid in Candu case

Loretta Chan, the former financial officer at Canada's nuclear corportation, has been charged with demanding bribes in relation to a plan to build two Candu nuclear power plants in Shanghai, China. The former executive was employed by the NPM Nuclear Project Managers of the Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd.

Money-laundering sting burns Bay Street lawyer

The United States Federal Bureau of Investigation has caught a Canadian international trade lawyer in a sting operation. Jeffrey Burns, who owns a prominent Bay Street law firm, was implicated in a money laundering scheme.
