Chihuahua not only one let down by Tricon

Article Abstract:

Tricon Global Restaurants shares have declined to $28.06 per share as of Jul 20, 2000, a 27% drop since the beginning of the year and 12% below its initial public offering price in 1997 when it was spun-off from PepsiCo. The company, which reached $73.50 per share on Apr 1, 1999, further damaged its financial standing with the announcement on Jul 19, 2000, that its revenues per store for 2000 will decline by 1% instead of the earlier forecast of 2% to 3% increases.

Investors see wireless through a glass darkly

Article Abstract:

The Internet's promise of wireless data access via personal computer and cellular telephones continues to baffle investors, with stock values of wireless telehpone makers and semiconductor suppliers fluctuating enough to make speculators seasick. Since third-generation communications technology is only expected to be in the US in 2004 because of too many different US standards, the markets are expected to continue being volatile in terms of technology stocks.
