No rights for migrants

Article Abstract:

President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed into law the landmark National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) in 1935 due to ongoing battles between American laborers and management, combined with huge numbers of workers trying to find a livable wage. However, two classes of laborers, field workers and domestic help were deliberately excluded from protection, although for the first time American labor had some leverage with employers.

Slow Food Movement: New legislation

Article Abstract:

CSPI and other agencies are supporting the legislation directing the USDA to issue updated nutritional standards for food in school. New federal requirements that each school should implement a "Wellness Policy" by the beginning of the 2007 school year has provided Slow Food Advocates with a new platform for advocating better school meals.
