Cognos sees opportunity in downturn

Cognos Inc., which is a software company led by chief executive officer Ron Zambonini, has warned investors of falling sales. Cognos, which is following a growth-through-acquisitions strategy, reported bottom-line profits of $22.1 million on revenue of $144.1 million during the second quarter ended February 28, 2001.
