Comac to open more Domino's pizza outlets

Article Abstract:

Comac Food Group Inc. of Calgary, Canada, and Toronto, Canada-based Dominvest Corp. have forged a conditional development contract to open as many as 100 Domino's Pizza stores in Atlantic Canada and in Ontario, Quebec, within the next three years. The Comac Food-Dominvest contract will be completed in August 1998. According to Comac Food, which paid C$4.15 million in 1997 to acquire Domino's Pizza of Canada Ltd., supervises 210 franchised Domino's Pizza stores Canada-wide. Dominvest has been established solely to put up develop Domino's Pizza franchises in Eastern Canada.

Scotiabank raises stake in Chilean bank

Article Abstract:

Bank of Nova Scotia has signed a letter of intent to acquire from Borda- Garcia Group its 32.6% stake in Banco Sud Americano SA for $115.7 million. If successful, Scotiabank's stake in the Chilean bank will increase to 60.6% The agreement, which gives Scotiabank the option to pay for the stake in cash or shares, is awaiting approval from Chilean and Canadian regulatory agencies.

Canadians back close economic links with U.S

Angus Reid Group has released the results of a new survey on the Canadian public's view of trade with the United States. The survey found that 71% of Canadians support closer economic ties between the U.S. and Canada.
