Combating addiction: Seeking risk factors for addiction, relapse

Article Abstract:

Several researches are conducted to analyze and study the various biological and environmental risk factors, like the presence of a stressful environment that ultimately lead to an increase in the risk of addiction or relapse. The analysis reveals that the presence of a stressful environment highly, as well as other factors like substance use at a very early age and the gastric-bypass surgery make people more vulnerable to addiction and hence should be properly controlled and taken care of.

Combating addiction: Many brain functions involved in addiction

Article Abstract:

The various discoveries made by the neuroscientists show that any form of addiction highly changes the brain centers dealing with learning, memory and judgment in humans and instigate them to indulge into activities like sex that give them pleasurable feelings. The research proves that an addicts' brain regions show more activity than a non-addict's, as they tend to lose the ability to recognize differences in the relative values of things.
