Corel woes prompted Inprise to review deal

Scotts Valley, Calif.-based INPRISE Corp. is reexamining its acquisition by Ottawa, Ont.-based Corel Corp. after the Canadian software maker reported poor first-quarter results. Corel, which reported an operating loss of $18.8 million for the first quarter, expects continuing losses.

Corel warns of deep losses as revenue plunges

Article Abstract:

Ottawa, Ont.-based Corel Corp., which is a leading Canadian software maker, has issued a profits warning for the second quarter. Corel, which already has made extensive job cuts, anticipates revenues of between $37 million to $38 million in the second quarter ended May 31, 2000.
