Article Abstract:

Sexual allegations against presidential candidate Bill Clinton and Senator Brock Adams had the press agonizing over the issue of privacy. Seventy-six percent of voters in a poll for Newsweek magazine said that they would vote for Clinton even if he had committed adultery. However, they also said that his reputation would be damaged if he was found to have lied. Brock Adams was accused of sexual harassment and rape by female staff members and by a teenager. The Seattle newspaper, which published the expose of Adams, felt that the number of women alone who claimed to have been harassed by Adams lent credibility to the story and subsequently did an in-depth investigation.

Current situation

Article Abstract:

The government devised a plan to aid companies in conforming with pollution regulations in the form of pollution credits. Rules on buying and selling credits were warranted by the Clean Air Act of 1979. Another measure of preventing pollution was created by the EPA, calling on the top industrial contaminants to willingly lessen emission of the 17 most hazardous substances with the incentive of saving money by preventing pollution. The environmental laws were expected to generate employment opportunities while procuring economic benefits with the utilization of high technology.
