Delays raise cost of Alliance pipeline

Article Abstract:

Alliance Pipeline Ltd. sees increased cost in its pipeline construction project due to delays in the project. The delays, which were primarily caused by regulatory hearing proceedings, have increased the project's cost by over 5% to C$4-billion. However, the company said that it will still proceed with its plan to start construction as early as January 1999. According to the company's CEO, Dennis Cornelson, once the project starts operating in October 2000, the company will generate a cash flow of more than C$200-million annually.
