Development and validation of a derived measure of research utilization by nurses

Article Abstract:

Promoting Action on Research Implementation in Health Services (PARIHS) conceptual framework on research implementation is used and studied to derive a nursing research utilization variable and validate it. The successful creation and validation of a derived research utilization variable would enable advanced modeling of the relationship between research utilization and individual and organizational characteristics.

Inclusion of women in nursing research: 1995-2001

Article Abstract:

The inclusion of women in published nursing research from 1995 to 2001 with a focus on the leading causes of mortality is examined. The top 10 causes of death were sampled to measure the inclusion of women, the characteristics of the women included, the funding source, and the topic, and suggested that continuing efforts must be made to include sufficient numbers of women.

Combining evidence in nursing research: Methods and implications

A literature on research review method was analyzed and synthesized with reference to nursing research studies. The defining characteristics of different research review methods, the common stages of all research reviews, and criteria for evaluating quality are described.
