Differences in resident characteristics and prevalence of urinary incontinence in nursing homes in the Southeastern United States

Article Abstract:

The differences in the resident characteristics as well as the prevalence of the urinary incontinence (UI) in various nursing homes in the Southeastern United States are analyzed. The results clearly indicate the high prevalence of UI in the region, with UI found to be much higher in the African Americans because of the existence of strong racial disparity that need to be eliminated to ensure a better quality care to the population.
