EMI deal makes music world smaller

Article Abstract:

The merger between United Kingdom's EMI Group PLC and New York, NY-based Time Warner Inc. will create a formidable rival to the music operations owned by Montreal, Que.-based Seagram Company Ltd. Inustry analysts said that the deal will accelerate the marketing of music on the Internet since Time Warner also has merged with America Online Inc.

Wang leads CEOs with whopping $655-million

Charles Wang, the chief executive officer of Islandia, NY-based Computer Associates International Inc., received $655.4 million in salary and benefits in 1999.
