Eaton's cancels two fall catalogues to pare costs

T Eaton Company Ltd dropped two key fall fashion catalogues in a cost- cutting move to improve profitability. The cancellation, along with a postponement of its annual meeting, has raised speculation among suppliers over the deparment store chain's future operations. The catalogues, which introduced the company's focus on fashion, are the glossy Preview magazine and the New and Blue denim book.

Forzani sales, profit rise but fall short of forecasts

Forzani Group Ltd., which is the largest sporting goods chain in Canada, reported that its profits reached $30.5 million for the year ended February 2, 2003. Forzani, which is led by chief executive officer Bob Sartor, also reported $1.05 billion in sales for the year.
