Economic forecasters shake off gloom

Article Abstract:

Economic forecasters predict that Canada's GDP will grow by 2.7% in 1999, slightly down from a growth rate of 3% in 1998. The latest survey by Consensus Economics Inc indicates that economic forecasters upgraded their prediction due to expectations of a faster economic growth in the final months of 1999. In the early part of the year, economic forecasters were only predicting a GDP of 2% for 1999.
