First Int'l acquires Montrusco

Article Abstract:

First International Asset Management Inc., a financial services consolidator, has signed a $101-million deal to acquire Montrusco Bolton Inc. (Montreal), a money management firm. The transaction increases the assets of First International from $18-billion amongst affiliates to $28-billion. Under the terms of the deal, First International is offering $14.25 a share for Montrusco. The company will also assume $5-million in debt. Moreover, the deal will increase Montrusco's resources, which will help the company to develop its international money management.

Bermuda-based Nelson Resources Ltd. has announced a pact with Canaccord Capital (Europe) Ltd. to raise approximately $4 million in a private placement.

Sun Life Financial to sell British unit to Credit Suisse

Sun Life Financial Services of Canada Inc. is to announce the sale of Sun Life of Canada Asset Management Ltd. to Credit Suisse Asset Management. The selling price is expected to be between one hundred and twenty million British dollars and one hundred and thirty million British dollars.
