RCMP, OSC warn of investment scams

The Ontario Securities Commission and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police have issued fraud warnings in regard to banking investment scams. Scam artists are promising high returns to investors for bank notes and debentures.

Fund sales reach near two-year peak: January's net sales about $1.8-billion

Article Abstract:

Sales of Canadian mutual funds were the highest in January 2004, as stock markets and falling interest rates send Canadians back into funds in time for the industry's critical RRSP-selling season. According to the preliminary estimate from the Investment Funds Institute of Canada, net sales were about $1.8-billion in January 2004, which was the highest monthly total since March 2002.
