Article Abstract:

Gemstar International Chief Executive Henry Yuen could be a major influence in the way people watch television should his company succeed in acquiring TV Guide Magazine for $8.6 billion in stock. Yuen plans to inject new technology into television, including a plan for wireless technology to supply data to televisions in the year 2000. The executive also envisions to expand that service using a two-way communication system based on 900-megahertz frequency.
