Mental testing, or psychometrics, is becoming more prevalent, more detailed and more insightful as a tool for promoting, recruiting and shifting employees to the most suitable part of an organization. Experts believe that the future lies in finding an occupational personality, because companies are looking for more specific, competency-based personality testing as Internet advertising opens a floodgate of applications.

Recruitment agencies are being assigned to carry out recruitments for SES level posts like an auditor-general, an election commissioner and a chief medical officer for the government sector.
