Golf's two solitudes: developers scramble to serve high-end players

Many high-end public golf courses in both the US and Canada now charge as much as $100 per round, making the sport too expensive for many people. The Professional Golfers' Assoc has built some affordable courses, but the sport's popularity may decline if more are not built.

Many people criticized the research of sociologists Katherine Kelly and Walter DeKeseredy when they reported that 81% of the 3,142 women college students they had surveyed reported that they had suffered some form of abuse from men during the previous 12 months.
