Has Major caught mad cow disease?

Article Abstract:

The European Union's ban on UK beef products due to the mad cow epidemic has caused Major to launch a counter-offensive. He has threatened to veto other EU initiatives unless the ban is lifted. Although 'Euroskeptics' are pleased with Major's stand, many voters see it as politically-motivated.
