High-profile raid made in connection with Royal Group investigation

Article Abstract:

The RCMP sought the documents in connection with Royal Group Investigation and withdrew one of them after the bank challenged it in the court. The Bank of Nova Scotia also refused to hand over some internal banking documents to the RCMP, after law enforcement officials staged an unprecedented raid on the bank's corporate headquarters as part of a year-long probe into Royal Group Technologies Ltd.

Crusading Spitzer subpoenas RBC

Article Abstract:

New York Attorney-General Eliot Spitzer issued a subpoena to Royal Bank of Canada, as the bank was improperly holding onto money that some of its customers had overpaid. The Bank is expected to explain its policy for dealing with overpayments, and to provide details surrounding a pair of specific transactions in its foreign exchange department.
