Hollinger lacks money to redeem share issue

Hollinger Inc., the holding company owned by Conrad Black, is unable to pay shareholders who are tring to cash in their securities. Hollinger announced it will suspend redemption of its series III preferred shares because of liquidity problems.

Hollinger Inc., which is controlled by Conrad Black, announced a suspension of redemptions of its preferred stock. The decision, which is related to a liquidity issue, applies to owners of 2.8 million shares of series III preferred stock.
