How cities subsidize big-box stores

Article Abstract:

An argument is raised by critics on subsidizes provided by the state and local government as studies show that the added financial burden created by the huge stores far outweigh the jobs and tax revenues generated by the stores. Further the ways in which these big stores misuses this subsidizes, which are given by the government to encourage new development, are presented.

Background: Early retailers

Article Abstract:

Department Stores originated in small cities and towns and resembled big-box retailers and known for high-end merchandise and meticulous customer goods that customer service. Further some of the early retailers such as chain stores and mail-order houses evolved from modern-day big-box retailers are presented.
