Loida Lewis took over her husband's billion-dollar corporation when he died in 1993. TLC Beatrice International Holdings, Inc is now a $2 billion company and one the largest female-held businesses in the US. Lewis' unconventional strategy includes giving back to the community.

Over 6,000 Nisei, or second-generation Japanese-Americans, fought bravely in World War II, assisting in the decoding of messages and other operations. They were taught loyalty by their parents. A memorial Congress approved in 1992 is discussed.
