A man writes about his triple bypass heart surgery that was conducted at the cardiac intensive-care unit of the Washington Hospital Center. At first he was nervous about the surgery, but afterwards was relieved and grateful that the fairly routine procedure was over. He researched the history of heart surgery and why the procedure was fairly routine. People should not ignore chest pains.
