Internet is regulated enough, CRTC says

Article Abstract:

The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) has decided that it will not regulate control content on the Internet. The agency said that Criminal Code provisions and self-regulation are enough to handle on-line crimes such as the production of hate mails, child pornography and the distribution of bulk E-mail advertising. CRTC chairwoman Francoise Bertrand stated that regulation would only stiffle the growth of Canada's Internet industry, which produces 5% of global Internet content.
