Keep Canadian dollar: economist

John McCallum, the chief economist at the Montreal, Que.-based Royal Bank of Canada, has predicted that the Canadian economy would suffer if the country adopted the U.S. dollar. His comments were reported in a new study entitled, "Costs and Benefits of a North American Common Currency."
