Life on Mars? Rock the Pilbara

Article Abstract:

The research conducted by Australian paleontologist Roger Buick on microscopic lifeforms that bear information about the dawning of life on Earth, is helping scientists prepare for a future unmanned journey to Mars to collect rocks and learn more about the planet's origins. Buick has been involved in finding 3.5 billion-year-old stromatolites in Western Australia, and the world's oldest oil trapped in 3-million-year-old rocks.
