Article Abstract:

From July 1, 2001, Australia's Income Tax Assessment Act has required the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) to index major superannuation thresholds and limits for growth of average weekly ordinary times earnings (AWOTE) over the financial year ended June 2001. This resulted in a 4.6% annual adjustment in superannuation thresholds and limits.

DIY attack on tax

Article Abstract:

In the light of the end of the international stock market boom, Australian investors are advised to take interest in DIY super funds and the opportunities they afford. Moving listed shares from personal investment accounts into DIY funds can result in tax savings.
