Article Abstract:

Several people who were part of the 26,000 applicants for work at a General Motors plant in Pickering, Ontario, describe their experiences in a huge line outside the factory. The applicants endured hours of bitter cold, even though they knew they had little chance of getting one of the $22 hour jobs.

David Milgaard was released from prison after serving 23 years when wrongfully convicted of murder in 1970. The Supreme Court of Canada recommended a new trial, but the Saskatchewan Justice Minister said Milgaard would not be re-tried.

A finnish study of 1,931 men demonstrated that men with high levels of iron in their blood were more likely to develop heart disease than men with smaller amounts of iron in their blood.
