Internet banking in Australia has not offered enough protection from high bank charges levied on ATM and branch transactions. Consumers wonder whether they will see a decrease in fees due to the huge savings gained from online banking. Australians hope banks will set up virtually free banking, which would be available only online and over the phone.

Business has significantly declined for Australia's OPSM, and its shares have fallen from $4 in Jan 1998 to $2.50 in Nov 1999. The company will introduce anti-reflective coating and to market respirators made by subsidiary Sabre Group.
