Mediators of the relationship between social support and positive health practices in pregnant women

Article Abstract:

A study to examine the relationship between social support and positive health practices in pregnant women and also examine two mediational variables, perceived health status and optimism is illustrated. It is proposed that social support has direct benefit on health and its absence is a risk factor for poor health because social support meets important human needs for social contact, security, approval, belonging, and affection.
