Message from Bank of Montreal

The 125th anniversary of Canada's confederation occurs in 1992. In the spirit of that anniversary, the Bank of Montreal has added the 'Portrait of Canada' to the regular financial information in its annual report, a compilation of pieces describing what Canada represents to the writers.

Alex Michalos has completed a study comparing the quality of life of Canadians and that of the United States. Using a complex variety of measures covering economic, social, and psychological indicators, Michalos concludes Canadians enjoy a better life style.
