Metal prices set to rise, miners told

Article Abstract:

The Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada convention for metal miners is discussed. With countries like India, China and Brazil showing greater demand for metals, the prices of metals are likely to soar higher. A comparison of the current trend with the 1950s and 1960s conditions when Japan's high consumption drove prices higher is also presented.

Soaring coal prices keep miners digging

Article Abstract:

The rising coal prices have resulted in the Western Canadian Coal Corp., signing a deal with Asian steel mills to supply coal at $100 a tonne in 2005. The company has also asked the provincial government for permission to increase production at its Dillon mines from 60,000 tonnes to 80,000 tonnes.

Burntsand stock takes pummelling
