Murdoch mutiny

Media titan Rupert Murdoch of News Corp. faces opposition from discontent shareholders at maiden annual meeting, who are withholding votes to re-elect the four directors and have taken court action to force shareholder vote on a poison pill takeover defense. Investors have lost trust because of relocation of company to Delaware and Murdoch's intention to control the company, which he wants to run on his own terms.

Murdoch shock: There's only room for one patriarch. Why a son abandoned ship

Article Abstract:

Lachlan Murdoch quit his senior executive position at News Corporation in the United States and it is believed that he resigned due to bitter clashes with his father, Rupert Murdoch, though the actual reasons behind the resignation are not known. Lachlan was expected to play a key role in any attempt by News to expand in Australia, particularly into free-to-air television.
