PEI's gas hopes rest on a wildcatter

Article Abstract:

Meteor Creek Resources Inc (Toronto, Canada), a junior exploration company with no oil and gas history, is drilling a wildcat well on Prince Edward Island (PEI) through a Can$3 mil investment. Based on seismic readings, gas is believed to be in the sandstone, 3.5 km below the surface. Since 1944, at least 16 wells have been drilled in PEI, and all have been abandoned. If the well provides commercial quantities of gas, Meteor Creek plans to invest Can$60 mil to drill as many as 40 wells.
