Nestle close to buying Ralston

Nestle S.A. is close to finalizing a deal to acquire Ralston Purina Co. for nearly $10-billion (U.S.) in cash. People involved with the deal warned that since the acquisition has not yet been finalized, it could fall aprt, but the negotiations are at an advanced stage.
