Religious Jews who are part of Israeli combat units believe the occupied territories are sacred ground and have pledged not to take part in Prime Minister Ariel SharonEs planned evacuation of the area. The political and military consequences of this growing movement of refuseniks, which is supported by some influential rabbis, are discussed.
