No-strings-attached affair

Article Abstract:

Digital cordless telephones are a cost-effective alternative to the popular mobile phone. Digital cordless phones are smaller and ideal for people on the move. Local and long distance calls are less expensive and internal calls are free. The federal government and Communications Minister Sen. Richard Alston are at odds over free-to-air television. The federal government wants to restrict HDTV. Alston thinks free-to-air television stations should not be charged for the digital TV spectrum for 15 years so they can broadcast HDTV simultaneously with regular TV.
