GM spinning its wheels

General Motors Corp. (GM) is expecting to post a 91% decline in its per share profit for the 2001 first-quarter. The company forecasted quarterly per share profits of 25 US cents as the car maker saw its share value and market share fall as well.

Nortel rocked by profit warning: With its current costs, network equipment firm couldn't reach operating profit goal

Article Abstract:

The communications network equipment company, Nortel Networks Corporation disappointed the investors, after it admitted that it would be less profitable than expected resulting into a fall in the stock by 16 percent. The company believes that it could not reach its operating profit goal with the existing costs and hence would unveil actions that would put into place to optimize the financial performance.
