On TV With His Wife, a Gentler and Softer Dean

Article Abstract:

Democratic presidential candidate Howard Dean and his wife Judith Steinberg Dean appeared in their first joint interview conducted by Diane Sawyer on ABC's "Primetime Thursday." The candidate is trying to recover with a new public image that will offset his disappointing third-place finish in Iowa's political caucuses. Dean concedes that his post-election hollering and yelling speech did not help his quest for the Democratic nomination.
