Passing the Westray buck: former Nova Scotia premier Donald Cameron blames everyone but himself for the tragedy

Article Abstract:

The inquiry into the May 9, 1992, Westray mine explosion that killed 26 miners has featured testimony from scores of politicians and bureaucrats who all deny any responsibility for the tragedy. Cameron, one of the prime advocates for the mine, even blamed the victims for the incident.

Breaking the silence: sexually abused patients are speaking out

Article Abstract:

Women patients are reluctant to report sexual misconduct by physicians for fear of not being taken seriously. The estimated number of physicians who have sexual contact with their patients varies between 7% and 13%. Several cases and ways to address the complaints are described.

Reversal of fortune: former Nova Scotia premier Gerald Regan is charged with 16 sex-related offenses

Article Abstract:

Regan denies all allegations of sex offenses and maintains that he is being accused simply because he is a high-profile official. His lawyer Edward Greenspan is charging that the media and the Nova Scotia RCMP are teaming up to construct a case against Regan.
