Prisoner of politics

Article Abstract:

Leonard Peltier, an American Indian falsely accused of murdering two FBI agents in 1975, is now in his 24th year of incarceration, awaiting Bill Clinton's 1992 promise to review his case. The shooting of the agents followed the American Indian Movement's (AIM) occupation of Wounded Knee, but documents show the FBI and Justice Department produced false evidence and withheld testimony at Peltier's trial.

Indian giver

Article Abstract:

The brain of Ishi, the last Yahi Indian, was lost for most of the 20th century but was found in the Smithsonian Institution among 300 other preserved brains. The Smithsonian has angered Indians by refusing to return his brain to the Maidu, a visiting tribe. Ishi died in 1916 of tuberculosis and asked to be cremated.
