Publishers push to pass Bill C-55

Article Abstract:

Canadian magazine publishers have asked the Canadian federal government to stop talking with US trade officials and go ahead with the proposed ban on foreign split-run edition. A foreign split-run edition is a foreign- produced periodical that has Canadian advertisements but contains little Canadian editorial content, if at all. The negotiations with mid-level US trade officials have been ongoing to avert a wider scale trade war.
