Pulling the plug: Ottawa orders an end to the Somalia inquiry

Article Abstract:

Defense Minister Doug Young announced in Jan 1997 that the commission of inquiry will discontinue its investigation into Canada's 1992-1993 mission to Somalia. Some members of the media and the political opposition believe the decision might be motivated by a desire to avoid the exposure of more military scandals.
